Race cancelled again today

Unfortunately the Watson's Cross Country Run was cancelled again in the morning today
I phoned the HKAAA's hotline after having at the Tin Hau MTR Station, and was told the race being cancelled due to poor weather
This is the 2nd races being cancelled within 2 weeks, and I was so disappointed

Having learnt there is a nice web site promoting the wind energy

Death will tear us apart

Four runners died during the running at The Great North Run at England yesterday. This reminded me the uncertainty of life and you never know the date and place you die.

Similar to the song of Joy Division "Love will tear us apart" that "Death will tear us apart" too.

To me the god of death had passed me shoulder by shoulder for several times already including serious sickness in childhood, nearly falling from cliff at Mount Kinabaru................

Death is always closed to you which is out of your imagination and planning.

If I could choose the time & place to die, I might probably choose to die during an international marathon (at 50 yrs old) than to dying on a bed in hospital.

However, we don't have any choice. Don't we?

Race cancelled

When I took a bus from Wan Chai to the starting point of AVOHK 5 Km Run 2005 yesterday, the rain was really heavy.

After 15 minutes waiting at the Wan Chai Gap park, the organizer decided the race to be cancelled due to the storm warning signal

Honestly I was quite disappointed to miss a chance of racing in the rain

I then decide to take a short walk to leave the starting point

Having a 1.5 hrs hiking I finally reached Aberdeen (originally I wished to go to Wanchai instead0

The rain was quite heavy on my way to Aberdeen and some workers were still trying to clear some landslide along the way

Hiking solo in such poor weather is a little bit dangerous indeed

A happy day of my life

I enjoy today very much

Firstly I had a nice run at Sir Cecil's Ride despite the hot and humid weather

Secondly I attended a nice mini concert performed by Mara Carlyle at RTHK in the evening tonight

Moreover, there is a reception before the concert including tasteful England snacks with different kinds of drinks (Red and white rine, soda water, Coke and organge juice) I had them all and was very satisfied.

The performance by Mara was extremely well. She could even play with a saw and the guitarist Chris played very well too

Unfortunately my attention was sometimes taken away by the low cut dress Mara wore tonight

Finally a violin duo "Duo" played very nice fusion/classic music by Saint Jean and Brahms to end this wonderful mini concert

Honestly I could not ask more for this free concert

Having just returned home after attending the RTI running race in Cheung Chau in the afternoon today

Although the weather was so hot, I managed to completed the race in 40 mins+

I was very happy that I met several local and expatriate running pals from hkrunners.com. They were all very friendly and we colud have a chance to take a group picture after the race too

The weather was really hot and my cotton running vest was wet completely after the race

The race course was a little bit narrow with a lot of bicycles

However, I enjoyed the run very much

Will join it next yr too

Running Exercise

Having a running exercise at Sir Cecil's Ride in the afternoon today

Although it's cloudy, the temperature was still very hot. Luckily there was breeze from time to time cooling me down.
Having met two runners on the trail and both of them were in quick paces

When walking down the mountain, I come across a pair of hikers. The guy tried to overtake me, and I sped up my paces. However without wearing my glasses I barely could see the step, and had to run down step by step. Luckily the phone of the guy rang and I could expand the distance.
That's me who reached the main road first and had the final say, "To run with me, U're not even qualified"

Enjoyed the run very much today

Thaiquain High Island 10 Km Run 2005

Having completed the captioned race within 54 mins on 4/9/2005 (Sunday)

The rain was quite heavy before 0900 hrs, and really worried the race would be cancelled. Luckily the rain stopped at 0900 hrs and there was no rain during the race.

I later learnt that the hudmidity on that day was over 90 which explained why my cotton running vest (Fila Mount Butler 2005) was just as wet as having been washed

I was lack of condition this time but still enjoyed the race
