Shek Kong Pre-Marathon 10 K Race - 2007/12/30

Just completed the 10 K race in 51 mins+ in the cooler temperature this morning.

I really felt like training run despite the final 100 m to overtake a young lady runner in front of me. Really enjoyed the race.

I had a brief chat with the organizer LEE Ho Tung who mentioned he wished to quit from organizing races in the future. My instant response was like Simpson "Don't" cause I really appreciated the professionalism of the races organized by Marathon Pro and Mr LEE.

I asked Mr LEE to re-consider his decision because the consequence will be serious.

HKLRRC Boxing Day Run 2007 - 07/12/26

Just having completed the 4 Km race in 23 mins+ at Wan Chai Gap earlier.

The cooler weather was perfect for running, and the atomsphere was amazing too.

Despite the completeion time was almost 2 mins+ slower than last yr, I really enjoyed the run. another nice race organized by HKLRRC again.

TPSA 10 Km Race 2007 - 2007/12/23

Just having completed the race in 48 mins+ in the wet and cooler temp in the morning today.
I've not completed any 10 K races in 50 mins for a while already.
The organizing of the race improved so much, but the abuse of plastic bags remained.
The cake given after the race was so delicious and I consumed it all.
The walk from Tai Po Station to the starting point was much longer than I expected. It took me almost 25 mins to walk in the rain.

Nice race anyway.

Kadoorie Brothers Memorial Run 07 - 07/12/16

Just completed my 1st KFBG 5.3 Km Run 2007 ( 二零零七年第十三屆嘉道理兄弟紀念跑 ) in 45 mins and ranked 89 among 220 finishing runners on 2007/12/16 (Sunday).

The route was really horrible steep, and I could not resist the temptation of walking uphill most of the time.

I felt good in overtaken 3 runners in the last 10 m uphill route (nearly 45 degrees).

Moreover since I walked too often, this race became a fast walk to me indeed.

Nice race and good organizing.
Probably will join the event next year too.

IMMD 7Km Invitation Race 2007 - 2007/12/15

Just completed an inter-departmental 7 Km race in 33 mins+ earlier today.

The cooler temperature today is perfect for running.

Despite I did not try my best, I still found my pace pretty fast.

A nice race again (I doubt whether the distance is 7 Km enough though)

AVOHK Reservoir Race II (Tai Lam Chung) Race II - 07/12/9

Just completed the captioned race in 1 hr 28 mins+ in the morning on 2007/12/9.
Despite I am a slow runner, it's still a slow completion time to me.

I found myself struggling to recover from the tireness produced by the two half marathon one or two week(s) ago.

It's my PW in the same race since 2004.
I felt my legs pretty heavy after about 10 K and had to walk most of the upward steps.
It's my PB of this race and was 6 mins slower than last year.
Still enjoyed the race anyway.

UNICEF Half Marathon 2007 - 2007/12/2

Having completed the captioned race in 1 hr 52 mins+ in the sunny morning today. This is my first time attening a race in Lantau Island. The route is nice and the organizing is very good too. Hope the SCM's organizer will learn something from them.

I was pretty lucky today. I sat next to a pretty CX air hostess when travelling by MTR to Sunny Bay, and had a nice chat with a uniformed SSgt when returning home by MTR. I really admired the officer who had completed full marathon in Boston Marathon already.

I really enjoy the race today. This is the first race of my seven races in December.

Seiko Hong Kong Runner Half Marathon 2007 - 07/11/25

Just completed the captioned race in the sunny morning in 1 hr 50 mins+ today.

I was chased by a veteran woman runner all the way. Luckily I maneld by Managed to lead her 10 m before the finishing line.

I felt pretty tire after 16 Km which might be caused by insufficient training mileages.

Another nice race held by Marathon Pro.

Nike 10 K Challenge 2007 - 07/11/11

Completed the 10 K race in a leisure pace of 50 mins. I really enjoyd the run and almost seems like a training run to me.

I am happy to run along with another hkrunners member LAM Wah who just completed Trail Walker in 19 hrs+ yesterday. What a superman! I could barely walk after completing the TW in 30 hrs+ in 1995 for a few days. It's also my pleasure to cross the finishing line with LAM. Probably will not have another chance again becuase LAM is simply too fast to me.

Another nice run again!

HKDRC Half Marathon 2007 - 07/11/4

Completed the race in 1 hr 55 mins which was quite slow in such cool weather.

I hit the wall at 18 Km and had to walk for a short distance.

The suffering was caused by several adverse factors :

- Lack of sleep (0nly had a 3.5 hrs sleep) and felt to deep sleep before the coach entered the Cross Harbour Tunnel

- Lack of mileages (only trained for 8 - 10 Km run for months)

- Lack of war up (Coach arrived at Tai Mei Tuk at 0700 hrs)

Still enjoyed the run even the suffering becoming some sort sweet.

I was so happy to find my younger brother and friends greeting me at the finishing point.

AVOHK 5 Km Race III - Bowen Road (2007/10/13)

Just completed the captioned race in the cool and windly afternoon in 24 mins+ today.

The cooler weather and the frequent breeze was absolutlely a bonus to the race. However there were so many walkers with their dogs along the race course which posted inconvenience and dangers to the runners.

I was almost overtaken by a veteran lady runner at 4 Km. After a "SH" word I sped up further and got loose of her at the final Km.

Nice race again.

However I agreed with another keen runner Oldster that the race course was at least 300 metres longer.

Ulfenbo Quarter Marathon 2007 - 2007/10/7

Ulfenbo Quarter Marathon 2007 - 2007/10/7

Just completed the captioned race in a slow time of 56 mins in the extremely hot and sunny weather in the morning today.
It's nearly 3 minutes slower than my previous record last year.
Lacking of running exercise last week (not a single run since the 8 Km race on last Sunday) also paid the price.
I was nearly exhausted and closed to heat stroke at 7 Km and had to slow down a lot to prevent from over heated.
Truely a tough race to me.

Tsuen Wan National Day 8 Km Running Race 2007 - 2007/9/30

Tsuen Wan National Day 8 Km Running Race 2007 - 2007/9/30

Just completed the 8 Km running race in 42 mins+ in the sunny and extremely hot weather in the morning today.

TVB was the irst to blame or depriving me from enough sleeping after watching Death Note and the table tennis games played by my beloved female players.

Lacking sleeping not just worsen my performance, it also made me hot tempered. I apologized to those runners being scored by me with dirty words before and during the race.

I had to push my speed to the limit in the last 10 metres to prevent another runner overtaking me. So relieving.

Nice race anyway

Coca Cola 7 Km Fun Run 2007 - 2007/9/16

Coca Cola 7 Km Fun Run 2007 - 2007/9/16

Just completed the 7 Km running race in a slow time of 38 mins.

I still suffered from the tiresome bought forward from the 5 km race yesterday. Moreover the hot and humid weather also increased the difficulty.

Despite running slowly, I still enjoyed the race pretty much.

Saturday, September 22, 2007

Wan Chai District Long Distance Run 2007 - 2007/9/23

Having completed the captioned race in 24 mins in the rainy morning today.
Despite the distance was short, the final 2 Km upslope race course still added difficulties to the race.
The rainy weather decreased the temperature becoming an advantage to the race anyway.
Still enjoy running on this new route (Wanchai Gap Park to Aberdeen and return).

AVOHK 5 Km 2007 Race I - 2007/9/15

AVOHK 5 Km 2007 Race I - 2007/9/15

Just completed the 5 Km hilly course in 27 mins+ in the serious smoggy weather in the afternoon today.

I saw so many runners slowed down to walking along the course.

Despite suffered from hot and smoggy weather, I still enjoyed the running pretty much.

Thaiquain Cup 10 Km 2007 - 07/9/2

Thaiquain Cup 10 Km 2007 - 07/9/2

Just having completed the captioned race in a pretty slow time of 57 mins in the morning today.
The hot and humid weather really created a serious problem to me.
I felt very tire and hungry at 7 Km, and the only thing come across my mind was food and drinks.
I also lacked of training with only one 6 Km evening run last week.
However I still enjoyed the race.

Monday, August 20, 2007

Chung Hing Cup 10 Km 2007 - 2007/08/19

Just completed the captioned race in a hot morning in 53 mins+ on 2007/9/19 (Sunday).

It was a slow time because of my lacking of training (only a 6 Km run on last Friday evening in last week).

In fact I nearly throw up at 7 Km due to my poor physical condition.

The organizer did a well organized race and e-mailed me the result so quick.

SDH X-Country Run 2007 - 2007/8/12

Just completed the Southern District Harrier X-Country Run in heavy rain on muddy and slippery trail in Aberdeen in the morning today.

The rain really poured cats and dogs during the race and the trail was muddy and slippery. The short upward extremely muddy and slippery trail really became a torture to me.

Lacking of training (only a 7km light run in 21 days) also proved to be a curse to me too.

I had to complete the 8 Km run in 48 mins at last.

Shatin Festival 10 Km Run - 2007/7/15

Having completed the 10 Km Running race in the extreme hot and sunny weather in the morning today.

The first few kms running was nice because the lane was closed for runners.

However the strong sun light really made me felt dizzy and many young runners stopped and walked after several kms run.

The collection of chips was chaotic as expected.

However the race was still nice organized by the infamous DAB organizer.

Completing 2 races in a day - 2007/7/8

It's my first time completing two 10 K races in one day.

- 1st race (Eastern District 10 K Run) at 0705 hrs - having many uphill routes and consumed me 58 mins to complete

- 2nd race (TWAC Evening 10 K Run) at 1730 hrs - nearly all flat race course consumed me 52 mins to complete.

Despite being very tire, it's a treasure experience too.

Thanks slowrunner for taking those nice pictures in EDSA 10 K Run.

Seven sins of the re-unification mid night run 2007 - 07/6/30

It was probably the most chaotic running event I had ever attended. The organizer did not know what should be done or what should not be done at all.

At least seven "sins" could be located :

- The preparation of the race was most chaotic especially the despatch of bib numbers and tee shirts (later learnt the bib number is useless cause no one noticed it at all)

- Using of a lot of plastic bags before and after the race

- Too much food, drinks and partying before the race

- Too much souvenirs after the event

- should be called fun run instead of running race

- claiming of luggages was absolutely a nightmare

I will not join any running events held by the same organizer (TPSA) in the future.

P.S. Nice to meet EW, George and Bernard before the race.

Olympic Day Run 2007 - 2007/6/24

Having joined the Olympic Day Run in the morning today.

The weather was pretty hot with excessive sunlight.

The distance was enough this tim and I had to use 25 mins to complete the race due to serious jamming of runners.

A nice organised fun run with so many nice souvenirs again.

RRAC 8 Km Summer Run 2007 - 07/5/20

Having completed the captioned 8 Km race in extremely heavy rain (probably amber rainstorm signal) in the morning today.

Luckily there was no thunderstorm and the race could be proceeded smoothly.

Thanks the organizer RRAC for the nice arrangement despite there was some chaos during collection of chips/number bibs and luggages.

A nice and enjoyable race still.

Thanks Peter for taking pictures for me, and it's nice to see Keith, Snail, CHIN, Mike, Raymond and other hkrunners.com's members.

Southern District Beach Run cum Aquathon - 07/5/13

Just completed the 4 Km beach run in Repulse Bay in 16 mins+ in the morning today.

I believe the distance was not 4 Km enough, because I could manage to complete the 800 m beach run in 6 mins+.

Despite from the sightly hot temperature, the race was nice and well organized. However the pink souvenir tee was ................

1st Shatin 9 Km X-Country + Road Race 2007

Just completed the 1st Shatin Cross Country + Road Race in the morning today.

I could only manage to complete the race in a pretty slow time of 57 mins+. Wearing the wrong road running shoes which were incapable to handle the slippery down hill slopes.

I sped up my paces when turning into the flat field path. However I lost my control once and punched directly into the field. Luckily the field was covered with long grass and without water, rocks and mud. I climbed up to the path and continued the run again.

Very difficult race to me.

Congratulation to LAI Kat who completed the race in an amazingly fast time of 38 mins+.

A nice race still.

Clearwater Bay 10 K Annual Chase 2007 - 2007/4/22

Just having completed the Clearwater Bay 10 Km Annual Chase in the hot and humid morning today.

The hot temperature added more difficulties in running those upslope race course. I could feel my running tee totally wet.

I still enjoyed the race pretty much.

Moreover the orange souvenir wind breaker was so nice.

Thanks Alain for the pictures taken.

Pacer 10 K Easter Run 2007 - 2007/4/15

I completed the race in 48 mins in the warm and humid temperature in the morning today.

The race was well organized but the running route was quite confusing.

Since the gal runners started 15 mins later than us male runners, there was not a single lady runner to chase. This is so boring lah.

A nice race anyway.

P.S. Only had 2.5 hrs sleep making me felt sleepy during the first 3 Kms.

The 1st Tolo Harbour 10 Km Race - 2007/4/1

Just having completed the captioned race in 49 mins 0x secs in the morning today.

Unfortunately there was no rain, and the appearance of the sun slowed me down a lot in the final 2 Kms.

I was overtaken by 2 female runners in the last km, and lacked motivation to overtake them.

I enjoyed the race anyway.

The souvenir tee was not good in design though.

Mount Butler 15 Km Race - 2007/3/25

Mount Butler 15 Km Race - 2007/3/25

Despite having completed a 7 Km race in 31 mins (my PB) yesterday, I still managed to complete the Mt Butler 15 K in 1 hr 23 mins+ today.

The completion time was already 6 mins+ faster than my record last year.

The high hudmidity and warm temperature added difficulties to the race.

However I still enjoyed the race pretty much.

Immigration 7 Km Run - 2007/3/24

Immigration 7 Km (invitation) Race - 2007/3/24

Completed the captioned race in Tai Mei Tuk in 31 mins in the morning today.

Despite it was not a fast time, but it's already my personal best in 7 Km race.

With an occasional shower, the weather today was nice for running race.

Another good race again.

AVOHK Malcolm Phillips Memorial Run 2007 - 07/3/17

Having attended the captioned race in a rainy weather at Wanchai Gap in the afternoon today.

Despite the rain and the slippery race course, I managed to completed the race in 25 mins+. This was my personal best at the same course so far already.

The souvenir was a blue back pack which was so nice in design.

Another amazing race organized by AVOHK.

Thanks Peter for the nice pictures.

New Balance Reservoir Cup III 2007 (Tai Tam) - 07/3/11

Having completed the captioned Race in 1 hr 7 mins in the morning today.

The hig humidity and warm temperature making the run more difficult, and the Boa Pass was pretty slippery.

Despite the unfavourable factors, I still found the race enjoyable. Moreover I was delighted to meet with so many members from hkrunners.com today.

Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2007 - 2007/3/4

Just completed the half marathon in the misty morning today.

I was caught in the course congestion in the first 4 Km and had to spent 25 mins (which was my slowest time).

After the 5 Km I sped up and had a nice run afterwards. However the race course become extremely congested after we half marahon runners ran into those slowly walking 10 Km runners in the Western Tunnel.

I had to apology to those 10 Km joggers/walkers being pushed by me on the way.

Finally I completed the race in 1 hr 55 mins (at least 5 mins slower than I expected)

Apart form the poor arrangement of the starting time, the race was nice organizied.

Mizuno Fat Choy Run 2007 - 2007/2/20

Just having completed the 8 Km race at The Peak in 39 mins+ in the morning today.

The hudmidity was extremely high and the fog was very thick. My glasses kept blur along the race course and preventing me from running faster.

However I managed to take over many runners in the last 50 m uphill course. It's nice to have met so many members of hkrunners.com after the race.

Another nice race organized by HKLRRC.

Thx Thomas FAN for taking pics in such foggy weather.

New Balance Reservoir Cup Race II - Tai Lam Chung

Just completed the captioned race in 1 hr 22 mins+ in the morning today.Despite the time was not fast and I walked several uphill sessions, it was still my PB in the same race course. My last try in 2005 was 1 hr 25 mins+.It's nice to meet so many hk runners members today.

Especially we met hkflyer's wife and his lovely baby - a strong and extremely cute boy!

A nice race held by AVOHK again!

Pacer 10 Km Run 2007 - 2007/2/4

I completed the captioned race in 43 mins 32 secs in the morning today which was without doubt my PB in 10 Km races. However I strongly suspect the race course's distance might be at least 500 metres shorter. The race was well organized by the Pacer Runners Club and the souvenir blur long sleeves tee was nice and comfortable. However the queue in claiming the souvenir and water was a little bit too long.Thx On Chai and JW402 for the taking of my picture.

HK 15 Km Challenge 2007 - 07/1/28

Just having completed the captioned race in 1 hr 18 mins+ in the cold weather in the morning on 2007/1/28.

Despite the completion time was not very fast, it was already my personal best in the same route.

I completed the race in 1 hr 23 mins last year.

The race was well organized by HKAAA and sponsored by Kamachi. The souvenir tee was nice in design and was probably my first Kamachi product so far.

Sunday, January 21, 2007

China Coast Half Marathon 2007 - 07/1/21

Completed my 2nd China Coast Half Marathon in 1 hr 53 mins+. Despite the completing time was not fast enough, it's my PB in CCM already.

I completed my 1st half marathon of CCM in 2 hrs 3 mins in 2004.

I guess I had not conducted adequate warm up and inadequate sleep (2.5 hrs) leading me to suffer from painful right bottom muscle during the longest downslope section. I was forced to slow down while other runners kept passing me.

It's a nice run anyway.

Sunday, January 14, 2007

Perskindol Shatin 10 Km 2007 - 07/1/14

Just completed the captioned race in 47 mins + in the morning today.

The cooler temperature making the race quite enjoyable, despite the smog was still serious.

I began to feel hungry at 7 Km and sped up to the finishing point afterward.

A young runner failed to take over me in the last 10 metres before the finishing line.

A nice race organisied by Marathon Pro (compared with the chaotic Tsuen Wan New Year Run this run was more perfect).

The release of the result was so efficient. I ranked 221 among 715 finishing runners.

Mizuno Hong Kong Half Marathon 2007 - 2007/1/7

Just completed the Mizuno Half Marathon in Tai Mei Tuk in the morning on 2007/1/7.

The temperature was so cold that I wore long sleeves running tee with a cotton gloves.

My completion time was 1 hr 47 mins which was PB for both HM or Mizuno HM.

The race was well organized and I enjoyed it very much. Despite the big logo on the Mizuno souvenir tee is too cute.

Nice race held by HKAAA.
