Just a few minutes before the starting of the Standard Marathon Half Marathon 2009 ( SCM 09 - 渣打馬拉松2009 ) I confirmed my absence from the event for the first time since 2004.
The story started after I completed the SSP X-Country Run. I started to have some cough after the race and I did not notice it was a warning signal.
My mild cough contined until Wednesday despite I had eaten some pills already.
I coughed more seriously in the morning on Thursday that I could feel my chest pain. I found the situation was out of control and the first thing come across my head was "bird flu". I immediately reported sick leave and attended a clinic near my home. Luckily I was not having any fever.
After having my medicine I went to sleep. My chest soon gone after releasing of some gas. However the coughing and shivering continued. Despite having two quilts covered over me, I still feel the colderness and shivering continued.
I slept for the whole day which seems like decades already. I continued heard the loud noise of Chinese Lion dancing around. I could not spare any effort to tell them to stop though. I believed I must be very sick at that moment.
If anyone asked me how I felt in the end of that day, I would have answered I felt like having completed two half marathons on the same day.
Apart from the two wheat breads eaten in the breakfast I had my medicine only for the whole day without any hunger feeling.
Now the half marathon had begun and I was writing my own blog in a clearing mind.
Men won't live twice. I guess I know it's meaning now.
